Vintner Resources

A few days back I was thinking... "We need people to use this site... you need money to make more wine.  This sounds like a great opportunity for us to help each other out!"  And so was born the Vintner Resources Points Contest.  What is the Vintner Resources Points Contest?  Glad you asked!  The Vintner Resources Points Contest is a contest based on how much you use Vintner Resources.  Vintner Resources will automatically award you points for certain activities such as posting a message in the forums, posting a review, writing an article and many other activities.  To make sure you get off on the right foot we even give you 10 points just for signing up for an account at Vintner Resources.  Different activities have different point values.  For a complete list of point values check here.  The user with the most points at the end of the contest period wins a $200 gift certificate to a local home brew store listed in our directory.  2nd place get $100 gift certificate and 3rd place gets $50.  Each month during the contest period we will also award a $25 gift certificate to the users who accumulated the most points that month.  Thats it, use Vintner Resources and have a chance to win up to $300 in gift certificates to your LHBS!

The first contest period starts February 1st, 2009 and runs through May 31, 2009.

How to enter...

Its very simple, just sign up for a free account at Vintner Resources.  Once your account is activated, you will start earning points for your activities at Vintner Resources.

5 Ways to earn LOTS of points...

Here are a few suggestion/pointers on how to get LOTS of points FAST!

1. Use Vintner Resources daily.  You get 5 points the first time you log in each day.
2. To really make things interesting, we decided to give you some points based on what people you refer to Vintner Resources do as well.  First, you get 1 point for every invitation to Vintner Resources you send using the online referral tool.  In addition you get 25 points for every person who signs up by following the link provided in the referral email.  Now here's the kicker... once they have signed up, you get 2 points for every 10 points they earn!  So start sending referrals and get all your wine making buddies working for you!
3. Write and article.  Not only do you get 30 points once we accept your article, you get another point every time someone reads your article!
4. Add some info to one of the directories, its worth 20 points.
   
5. Get active in the forums.  You get 5 points for replying to a thread and 7 for starting a new thread.
