At one time or another we will all purchase a kit that is past its prime if we are not careful. It just jappened to me. In November of 2007 I purchased 2 kits from 2 different manufacturers at the same retail out let. Both were RIGHT at the edge of thier shelf life and I did not check them. Fortunately I was only a little past kits prime and I think it will be fine but it drove home the importance of know ing how to decipher the date codes on wine kits. And more importantly to CHECK the codes prior to purchasing a kit if possible.
The date codes on wine kits are easy to decipher if you have the right information. Read the full aricle to understand how to decipher the codes used by some of the popular manufacturers.
